Competition is Fine – Copycats Aren’t

Greenhouse Competitors

In today’s marketplace, it can be difficult to tell the “Real McCoy” from all the followers who come along later and take over the ideas and products that have been perfected and marketed by the originators. Choosing the right provider for any service can mean making decisions about companies that may or may not have been around for years, and being able to differentiate the real product from often innumerable copycats. When it comes to choosing a greenhouse, the challenge is no less than trying to find a needle in a haystack. How do you know you’re working with the original and not a cheap, fly-by-night competitor? The answer is to always do your homework and find out everything you can before making your final choice.

Competition is Fine – Copycats Aren’t

Being a leader in any industry means there’ll invariably be competition, both honest and dishonest. Some companies work hard to create a brand for themselves, only to have competitors come along and steal their ideas, right down to the services and product packages they offer. Others simply lie in wait for the next big idea to come along (often at great expense to the originator), and then jump in with both feet without a single original idea for marketing, products, or services. There’s no law against it, really, but as the British might say, “It’s dirty pool, old man!” Instead of working hard to create their own brand, build a loyal following, and take on the expense and time of creating new and exciting ideas, they simply take what they see from a successful company and then try to fleece you out of your hard-earned dollars by making you believe they’re the real deal.

Slander & Defaming another Company

Unfortunately when companies feel threatened by what they know to be a more superior product they feel the only way to pull people away and focus on their own is to pick apart the competition. BEWARE as generally if companies need to go to the extent of putting up competitors products on their own website to scare consumers into purchasing then it screams “desperation”. Any company that is 100% confident in their own designs and quality will focus on their own products and not feel the need to slander and lie about others.

Working with the Original

If you want to work with the best, and not a simple copycat, you should ask some questions before you make your final choice.

  • How long have you been in business? We’ll gladly tell you how long we’ve been serving our local community, because it means you’ll know we’re the first and most respected in our field.
  • What sets you apart from your competitors? We’re proud of our success and we’re happy to let you in on how we set ourselves apart.
  • Do you guarantee your products and services? When you’re the best, you don’t have a problem standing behind your offerings. That’s why we’re always ready to make sure you’re satisfied, no matter what.

There are often excellent reasons that one company or another is a leader in their industry. Perhaps they’ve been the innovator, on the cutting edge of their field, constantly improving and evolving their services, products, and business practices to reflect a changing marketplace. For many companies, this is the nitty-gritty of becoming a success. It’s hard work, perseverance, and more than a little investment that make a company the best in its field. That’s what we’ve worked hard to become, and we’ve been doing it longer than any other greenhouse and gardening company in the area.

As the saying goes…” The truth will set you free” Expect honesty when dealing with Sproutwell because we will not lower ourselves to compete with dishonest competition.
